Location:
There's 2 worlds in the matrix 1 of them is a simulated world and the other is the real world and there's 2 worlds in the lego movie thats the exact same as the matrix. The locations of the matrix are magic and the locations of the lego movie are also magic.
Characters:
Emmet and Neo are the so called 'chosen one' and they both don't believe in themselves at the beginning of the film. Trinity and Neo work together and fall in love, this happens in the lego movie but with Emmet and Wyldstyle.
Themes/messages: The theme of the matrix and the lego movie is freedom and believing in yourself.
The heroes must 'die' before the end of the film before they become the true hero, where Emmet 'dies' and so does Neo.
Narrative: Emmet and Neo both don't believe that they're the chosen one but when they go around with the people that do believe this they finally discovers the matrix and becomes a hero.
Evaluate the advantages and the disadvanteges of the intertextual relationship of the matrix and the lego movie.
Advantages: the matrix is a film for older people, whereas the lego movie is basically a remake of the matrix but a cartoon version and younger children are more likely to understand the story line.
Disadvantages: Younger children won't understand the story line or main views of the matrix. you can't change it too much because its difficult to change the lego parts of the movie.

What did they use to promote the movie?

The advert was popular because it was the first thing like that that to happen and people had never seen it before, and that means people are going to talk about it and ask people if they have seen it.
