- Narrative- The lyrics are often reflected in the story. there is a theme but its not followed by the artist in the song.
- Concept- These can be original stories, homages to a favorite TV show or movie, or anything else the performer or director comes up with.
- Narrative illustration- This is the simplest and easiest concept to base a music video around as it is just a literal meaning to the song's lyrics in visual form. the video matches the song lyrics.
- Narrative amplification- The conventions demonstrated by the music video creative director. They may use both performance and narrative, connotations.
- Narrative disjuncture- The conventions demonstrated by the music video creative director. the narrative doesn't match the song lyrics.

- What happens in the video: everything is happening in reverse and it keeps replaying the same things which is the man getting ready to leave.

- How are the artists represented: Alessia Cara is normally seen with her hair down and curly. As shown in the video Alessia is shown with her hair down and curly. Zedd is normally seen with his hair pushed back so its not in his face. As shown in the video, zedd has his hair pushed back.
